Apprehensive Heart

Winner of 2019 New Apple Summer eBook Awards "Romance" Solo Medalist Winner

When Teagan McConnell’s heart was shattered by the loss of her father, her life changed forever.  She only has her mother and her uncle Nick to call family.  Her waking hours are spent at school or working as a mechanic at Nick’s shop, limiting her social life, which she prefers.  Her childhood friends, Ryan and Meghan are the only two people outside her family that understand the hell that she lives through every day. The one thing that she has only for herself, is the one thing that killed her father.

While his parents navigate their messy divorce, Luca Cantor would rather get in his 1970 GXS and drive forever.  Unfortunately, his life isn’t his own yet. In his senior year of high school, he is yanked out of school, moved to a new town and enrolled in a new school.  As the chip on his shoulder grows, so do the conflicts with other students who don’t trust the new boy.

Could the girl on the motorcycle be the girl of Luca’s dreams? Is it possible to trust the angry boy with green eyes?

Opening their apprehensive hearts won't come easy.  But could it be worth it?

The Thought of You

The Sequel to Apprehensive Heart

With a razor-sharp mind and an undeterrable drive, Harper Stevens is voted Most Likely to Succeed in her senior year at Stillwater High School. Despite the challenge she faces and the secret she keeps, she intends to use her laser focus to graduate with honors and be accepted into prestigious MIT.  In her mind, her future is certain. Her heart has other plans.

If you ask his friends, they would tell you that Ryan Nicol’s infatuation with uber-smart, beautiful nerd Harper Stevens is unattainable.  In fact, those same friends repeat the mantra that Harper is out of his league. Figuratively and literally. Although his popularity rivals his generosity and kind spirit, the high school quarterback is determined to carve out his own path to his predetermined future. The future could be altered forever when Harper's secret is revealed.

When Harper views a sample of what their future could bring, panic sets in, and the damage is done.

Will telling her secret make the prediction come true? Or will it let love conquer?

What Love Remains

THE THIRD BOOK OF THE STILLWATER SERIES

Over the last two hours, Meghan Slater has had plenty of time to count her regrets.

As her classmates accept their diplomas at Stillwater High School’s commencement ceremony, she’s missing in action. Not only has her absence been noticed, but rumors begin to fly, and the worst scandal to hit the small town is about to be exposed.

Meghan’s friends show up at her house, worried and wanting to know if the gossip is real. Instead, they find an unexpected familiar face.

Crue Finnegan is back, and he’s changed. No longer the adolescent computer geek who left Stillwater years ago. He has a score to settle, finish what he started, and set things right with the girl he left behind.

As Meghan’s family and friends rally around, her head and heart battle an internal war, and she is forced to put her faith in the one person she swore to hate forever.

A note from JT

Thank you for visiting my website. I hope that my work inspires and moves you.

I am proud of Apprehensive Heart, the first book in my Stillwater Series. It was a labor of love, and although it's not my most perfect work, it is my favorite story. It taught me to believe in myself, despite the challenges and disappointments. Written for my daughters, it has the message to believe in yourself and to open your heart to love.

Some of my favorite authors (the shortlist) include Thomas Hardy, Stephen King, Patricia Cornwell, Jane Austen, and Christina Lauren.
